Shirdi - Sai Baba Samadhi Mandir (Booty Wada)

The Mandir is built with stones and Baba's Samadhi is built with white marble stones. A railing is built in marble around the Samadhi and is full of ornamental decorations. In front of the Samadhi are two silver pillars full of decorative designs. Just behind the Samadhi is Sai Baba's marvelous statue made of Italian marble which shows him seated on a throne. This idol was made by late Balaji Vasant.

This statue was installed on 7th October 1954. Above the statue is an open, silver umbrella. The front of the Mandir has an assembly hall where about 600 devotees can be accomadated. Here is the show-case where various things handled by Baba are kept. On the first floor of the Mandir are pictures depicting the life of Baba.

The routine of the temple starts at 5 o'clock in the morning with Bhoopali, a morning song, and closes at 10 o'clock in the night after Shejarati is sung. Only on three occasions the temple is kept open overnight .ie. on Gurupoornima, Dassera, and Ramnavami. Every Thursday and on each fesitival, a Palakhi with Baba's photo is taken out from the temple.

Dwarkamai

Shri Sai Baba came to Shridhi with a marriage procession. He stayed at Dwarkamai till the very end of his life. Dwarkamai is situated on the right side of the entrance of Samadhi Mandir. Here he solved problems of the people, cured their sickness and worries. Before Baba's arrival in Shridhi, Dwarkamai was an old mosque in a dilapidated condition. Baba turned it into Dwarkamai and proved that God is one.

The first level of Dwarkamai has a portrait of Baba and a big stone on which Baba used to sit. This level has two rooms. One contains the chariot and the second a palkhi. Just in front of the room where the chariot is kept is a small temple. A saffron flag flies over it. The second level of Dwarkamai has a square stool made of stone, which Baba used for taking a bath. The main attraction of this place is the oil painting of Shri Sai Baba sitting in a carved wooden shrine. This level also has the grinding stone and the wooden vessel called Kolamba in which Baba used to keep the Bhiksha brought from the village.

Gurusthan

Sai Baba first came to Shridhi in the form of Bal Yogi - a child ascetic. He was first spotted seated under a Neem tree. This place came to be known as Gurusthan. The renovation of Gurusthan was made on 30th September, 1941. The present temple was built after this period. There is a small shrine in Gurusthan. On a elevated platform of this shrine a big portrait of Baba is placed. On the side is a marble statue of Baba. In front of the portrait is a Shivling and the Nandi. Photos of twelve Jyotirlingas are kept in the temple. The branches of the Neem tree have come out through the roof of the temple.

Chavadi

At a short distance lies Baba's Chavadi. Baba used to sleep here every alternate day. The Chavadi is divided into two parts. One part of the Chavadi has a large portrait of Baba along with a wooden bed and a white chair belonging to him. There is a cottage of Abdul Baba, an ardent devotee of Shri Sai Baba, in front of the Chavadi. The Lendi Baug was looked after by Abdul Baba. There are photos and various things which were handled by Sai Baba and Abdul Baba in the cottage.There is a Maruti Mandir located at some distance from the cottage of Abdul Baba. This mandir was visited by Baba for the sat-sang with Devidas, a Balyogi, who lived at the Mandir ten to twelve years before Baba arrived. There are also temples of village deities named Shani, Ganapati, and Shankar to be visited.

Lendi Bagh

At some distance from Gurusthan there is the Lendi Baug. This Baug was made and watered daily by Baba himself. It got its name from a Nalla (a drain) which used to previously flow there. Baba used to come here every morning and afternoon and take rest under a Neem tree. Baba dug a pit, 2 feet deep, under the Neem tree and kept a Deep lit in that pit. One octangular Deepgriha called Nanda Deep has been built in marble stone in memory of this place.

It constantly burns in a glass box. On one side of the Deepgriha is a Peepal tree and on the other side is a Neem tree. Some distance away is a Datta Mandir below an Audumbar tree. In the Mandir there is a statue of Datta built in marble stone. The statue of Datta was installed on 6th December, 1976. Just behind the Datta Mandir is a Samadhi of the horse, Shyamsundar which belonged to Baba and which used to bow to him. Lendi Bagh also has a well dug by Baba with the cooperation of his devotees. At the entrance of the Bagh are the Samadhi's of ardent Sai devotees Tatya Kote Patil, Bhau Maharaj Kumbhar, Nanavalli and Abdul Baba.

Khandoba Mandir

This temple is situated on the main road. In front of this temple Baba was welcomed by Poojari Mhalsapati, of this temple, saying "Aao Sai", when Baba stepped in Shridi. In this temple there are icons of Khandoba, Banai and Mhalsai. How to get there Shirdi is located approximately 296 Kilometers from Mumbai (Bombay) City in India.

By Rail

The nearest railway station is Kopargaon 19 kilometers on Manmad-Daund section of Central Railways.One could take a Central Railway train from Mumbai (Bombay) V.T. station to Manmad station and then take a bus to Shirdi. State transport buses are available from Manmad to Shirdi. By Road :Well connected to Mumbai, Nasik. By Air : Programmes and Their Timeings : Kakad Arati 5:15 a.m. Holy Bath of Shri Sai Baba 6:00 a.m. Darshan Begins 7:00 a.m. Satyanarayana Pooja 9:00 a.m. Abhishek 9:00 a.m. Noon Arati 12:00 Noon Pravachan or Pujan 4:00 p.m. Dhuparati Sunset Bhajan, Keertan, Vocal Music, etc 9:00 p.m. Shejarati 10:00 p.m Important instructions to devotees arriving in Shirdi For proper guidance and assistance to the devotees, Reception centers have been opened opposite the S.T. Bus stand.

On arrival to Shirdi, devotees should immediately get in touch with the above mention Reception centers of the Sansthan and should thereafter proceed to the Enquiry Office for booking their accommodation which is made available after registration of name and other particulars. Occupied room(s) should be locked before going out. If the accommodation provided is in the common hall, luggage should always be left in charge of a member of the party to safeguard it from anti-social elements.A locker is available at nominal charge and against a deposit, which may be booked at the enquiry office, and used for keeping luggage or any other valuables.

Care should be taken not to leave any belongings behind in the toilets and the bathrooms. As the Samadhi Mandir is over-crowded at the time of Arati, devotees should safeguard their ornaments and purses from pick-pockets and mind their children. Devotees should note that all religious functions and Poojas in the Sansthan premises are to be arranged and performed through the office of the Sansthan. Necessary payments for these are to be made at the office against a receipt. Boxes have been provided by the Sansthan in the Mandir itself to receive the devotees' offerings by way of Dakshina and Hundis. Offering to Shri Sai Baba in cash or kind should always be made at the office against a receipt. Devotees should bear in mind that Baba left no heirs or disciples and should guard themselves against such deception practiced by impostors.

As all the necessary assistance and guidance is readily available to the devotees at the Reception center of the Sansthan, assistance from unauthorized guides at the S.T. stand, if taken by the devotees, will be at their own risk. Devotees are warned against practitioners of black magic professing allegiance to Shri Sai Baba, and also against those circulating chain-letters, asking the receiver to send a certain number of copies of the letter to his friends. Literature about Shri Sai Baba containing authentic information has been published by the Sansthan and is readily available at book shops near the Samadhi Mandir.

A complaint/suggestion book is always kept in the office for the use by the devotees, in which they are requested to write clearly their complaints/suggestions along with their full name(s) and addresses. The Sansthan authorities take due note of such complaints/suggestions. Donations should always be sent by Money Orders, Postal Orders, Crossed and A/c. Payee Cheques or Drafts to ensure safe delivery of the same.

Do not send cash or currency notes in postal envelopes. As the various dealers and vendors of Pooja articles are not connected with the Sansthan, devotees should first fix the price before buying these articles to avoid any trouble thereafter. All donations for oil for the Nanda-deep and for firewood for Dhuni in the Dwarkamai are to be given in the Accounts office only. Further details regarding these can be obtained from the Temple-in-charge. Devotees desirous of feeding the poor can arrange to do so against cash payment to be made to the Prasadalaya itself or the account office. Coupons are not accepted for this purpose. Devotees desirous of distributing alms to beggars can do so only in the beggars' shed, near Prasadalaya with the help of the Security officer.

Devotees making correspondence should give their complete and correct addresses. Devotees are requested to avail of the facilities at the Tea canteen and Prasadalaya run by the Sansthan where tea and meals are served at subsidized rates. Medical facilities are available at the well-equipped Sainath Hospital run by the Shirdi Sansthan. The Sansthan has not appointed any representative for the purpose of collecting donations in cash or otherwise. Devotees are informed that no donations either in cash or otherwise should be given to anybody personally. This is to avoid deceit as well as to prevent devotees from being cheated by unscrupulous elements.

I got up early one morning
And rushed right into the day;
I had so much to accomplish
That I didn't have time to pray.
Problems just tumbled about me,
And heavier came each task;
"Why doesn't God help me?"
I wondered.

He answered, "You didn't ask."
I wanted to see joy and beauty,
But the day toiled on gray and bleak;
I wondered why God didn't show me.
He said, "But you didn't seek."

I tried to come into God's presence;
I used all my keys in the lock.
God gently and lovingly chided,
"My child, you didn't knok."

I woke up early this morning,
And paused before entering the day;
I had so much to accomplish
That I had to take time to pray

The Peace Prayer For World Peace

Adorable Presence!
Thou Who art within and without, above and below and all around, Thou Who art interpenetrating the very cells of our beings, Thou Who art the Eye of our eyes, the Ear of our ears, the Heart of our hearts, the Mind of our minds, the Breath of our breaths, the Life of our lives and the Soul of our souls, Bless us, Dear God, to be aware of Thy Presence, now and here. This is all that we ask of Thee.

May all of us be aware of Thy Presence in the East and the West, in the North and the South! May Peace and Goodwill abide among individuals as well as communities and nations! This is our earnest Prayer.

A Winner's Creed

If you think you are beaten, you are;
If you think you dare not, you don't
If you'd like to win, but think you can't,

True Nobility

Who does his task from day to day
And meets whatever comes his way,
Believing God has willed it so,
Has found real greatness here below.
Who guards his post, no matter where,
Believing God must need him there,
Although but lowly toil it be,
Has risen to nobility.
For great and low there's but one test
'Tis that each man shall do his best.
Who works with all the strength he can
Shall never die in debt to man.

The Oyster

There once was an Oyster whose story I tell,
Who found that some sand was inside his shell
Just one little grain, but it gave him great pain!
For oysters have feelings, though they all seem so plain.
Now did he berate the working so fate.
Which had led him to such a deplorable state?
Did he curse out the government - call for an election,
And cry that the sea "should have given protection?"
No! He said to himself as he lay on the shelf,
"Since I cannot remove it, I'll try to improve it."
The years rolled along, as the years always do,
And he came to his ultimate destiny - stew!
And the small grain of sand that had bothered him so,
Was a beautiful pearl, all richly aglow!
The tale has a moral, for isn't it grand.
What an oyster can do with a morsel of sand?
What couldn't I do if I'd only begin,
With all those things that "get under my skin!"

At Day's End

"Is anybody happier because you passed his way?
The day is almost over and its toiling is through;
Is there anyone to utter now a kindly word to you?
Does anyone remember that you spoke to him today?
Can you say tonight, in parting with the day that's slipping fast.
That you helped a single brother of the many that you passed?
Did you waste the day, or lose it?
Was it well or sorely spent?
Is a single heart rejoicing over what you did or said?
Does, the man whose hopes were fading now with courage look ahead?
Did you leave a trail of kindness, or a scar of discontent?
As you close your eyes in slumber, do you think that God will say, you have earned one more tomorrow by the work you did today?'

गजिन्द्र हाथी

 ॐ श्री साँई राम जी

गजिन्द्र हाथी

एक निमख मन माहि अराधिओ गजपति पारि उतारे ||

सतिगुरु अर्जुन देव जी महाराज बाणी में फरमाते हैं कि हाथी एक पल प्रभु का सिमरन किया तो उसकी जान बच गई| परमेश्वर के नाम की ऐसी महिमा है| पशु-पक्षी जो भी नाम सिमरन करता है उसका जीवन सफल हो जाता है| गजपति (हाथी) दुःख-पीड़ा से व्याकुल था| उसकी चिल्लाहट ने जब कुछ भी न संवारा तो उसने भक्ति और परमात्मा की तरफ ध्यान किया| उसी समय परमात्मा अपनी शक्ति के साथ उसकी सहायता हेतु आ गए| उस हाथी को तेंदुए ने पकड़ रखा था और उसे पानी से बाहर नहीं आने दे रहा था|

हे जिज्ञासु जनो! एकाग्रचित होकर कथा सुनो कि किस तरह हाथी के बंधन मुक्त हो गए| महाभारत के अनुसार कथा इस प्रकार है -

होता एवं ब्रह्मा दो भाई हुए हैं| वह दोनों परमात्मा का सिमरन किया करते थे और इकट्ठे ही रहते थे| एक दिन दोनों सलाह-मशविरा करके एक राजा के पास दक्षिणा लेने गए|

यह मालूम नहीं, क्यों?

किसी कारण या स्वाभाविक ही भाई होता को दक्षिणा ज्यादा मिली तथा ब्रह्मा को कम| ब्रह्मा ने सोचा कि मुझे कम दक्षिणा मिली है तो भाई को ज्यादा, बराबर-बराबर करनी चाहिए| उसने शीघ्र ही सारी दक्षिणा मिला कर एक समान कर दी| उसके दो हिस्से करके भाई को कहने लगा - 'उठा ले एक हिस्सा|'

होता-'नहीं! यह नहीं हो सकता, मैं तो उतना हिस्सा लूंगा जितना मुझे मिला है| दक्षिणा इकट्ठी क्यों की?'

ब्रह्मा-'ईर्ष्या क्यों करते हो?'

होता-ईर्ष्या एवं लालच आप करते हो, जब आप को दक्षिणा कम मिली तो आप ने एक जैसी कर दी| कितनी बुरी बात है, मेरा पूरा हिस्सा दो, लालची!

ब्रह्मा-'मैं लालची हूं तो तुम तेंदुए की तरह हो| जाओ, मैं तुम्हें श्राप देता हूं तुम गंडकी नदी में तेंदुए बन कर रहोगे लालची|'

होता भी कम नहीं था उसने भी भगवत भक्ति की थी और उसने भी आगे से श्राप दे दिया - 'यदि मैं तेंदुआ बनूंगा तो याद रखो तुम भी मस्त हाथी बनोगे तथा उसी नदी में जब पानी पीने आओगे तो तुम्हें पकड़कर गोते देकर मारूंगा, फिर याद करोगे, ऐसे लालच को| तुमने सर्वनाश करने की जिम्मेदारी उठाई है, नीच ज़माने के|

यह कहता हुआ होता अपना हिस्सा भी छोड़ गया तथा घर को आ गया| कुछ समय पश्चात दोनों भाई मर गए और अगला जन्म धारण किया| होता तेंदुआ बना तथा ब्रह्मा हाथी| दोनों गंडकी नदी के पास चले गए| वह नदी बहुत गहरी थी|

हे भक्त जनो! ध्यान दीजिए लालच कितनी बुरी भला है| भाई-भाई का आपस में झगड़ा करा दिया| इतना मूर्ख बनाया कि दोनों का कुल नाश हो गया| वास्तव में अहंकार और लालच बुद्धि को भ्रष्ट कर देता है| लालच में बंधे हुए लोग दुखी होते हैं| ऐसे ही लालच की अपरंपार में बंधे हुए लोग दुखी होते हैं| ऐसे ही लालच की अपरंपार महिमा है| लालच कभी नहीं करना चाहिए|

ब्रह्मा एक बहुत बड़ा हाथी बना जैसे कि सब हाथियों का सरदार था, कोई हाथी उसके सामने नहीं ठहरता था| वह सब हाथिनों के झुण्ड साथ लेकर इधर-उधर घूमता रहता| वह जंगल का राजा था| ब्रह्मा को जो श्राप मिला था, उसे तो पूरा होना ही था| भगवान की माया अनुसार वह हाथी एक दिन उस गंडकी नदी के पास चला गया| पानी पीया| पानी बहुत ठण्डा था और सारे हाथी प्यासे थे| सबसे आगे वही हाथी था जो पूर्व जन्म में ब्रह्मा था| जब वह पानी पीने के लिए आगे बढ़ा तो आगे उसका भाई तेंदुए का रूप धारण करके बैठा था| उसने ब्रह्मा की टांगें पकड़ कर उसको गहरे पानी में खींचना शुरू कर दिया| वह आगे - आगे गया| जब हाथी डूबने लगा तो उसने चिल्लाना शुरू कर दिया| वह पानी के बीच बिना डूबे खड़ा हो गया| बस सिर और सूंड ही नंगी थी| ऐसा देख कर बाकी हाथी बहुत हैरान हुए, हाथिनें चिल्लाने लगीं, पर हाथी को बाहर निकालने की किसी में समर्था नहीं थी|

तेंदुए ने ब्रह्मा से बदला लेना था| इसलिए वह ज़ोर से उस हाथी को पकड़ कर बैठा रहा| हाथी बल वाला था, उसको भी ज्ञान हो गया कि पिछले जन्म का हिसाब बाकी है| वह अपने आप को बचाने का यत्न करने लगा| वह पानी में सिर न डूबने देता| तेंदुआ भी उस हाथी को डुबोने का यत्न करता|

तेंदुए तथा हाथी को लड़ते हुए कई हजार साल बीत गए| हाथी भूखा रहा, पानी में से वह क्या खाए| तेंदुए का भोजन तो पानी में ही था| हाथी बिना कुछ खाए-पीए कमज़ोर हो गया वह पानी में डूबने लगा तो उसी समय उसने अपनी सूंड ऊपर उठा कर आकाश की तरफ देख कर भगवान को याद किया| उसने प्रार्थना की-हे प्रभु! मैं हाथी की योनि में पड़ा हूं, दया करें कि मैं पानी में न डूबूं| यदि यहां मरा तो जरूर किसी बुरी योनि में जाऊंगा| मेरी प्रार्थना सुनो प्रभु!"

ब्रह्मा (हाथी) ने शुद्ध हृदय से पुकार की, उसी समय परमात्मा ने उसकी प्रार्थना सुनी और स्वयं नदी किनारे आए| सुदर्शन चक्र से तेंदुए की तारें काटी और हाथी को डूबने से बचाया| उसकी हाथी की योनि से मुक्त करवाया, फिर भक्त रूप में प्रगत किया| वह प्रभु का यश करने लगा| तेंदुए का जन्म भी बदल गया|

भक्त सुदामा

भक्त सुदामा

प्रभु के भक्तों की अनेक कथाएं हैं, सुनते-सुनते आयु बीत जाती है पर कथाएं समाप्त नहीं होतीं| सुदामा श्री कृष्ण जी के बालसखा हुए हैं| उनके बाबत भाई गुरदास जी ने एक पउड़ी उच्चारण की है -

बिप सुदामा दालदी बाल सखाई मित्र सदाऐ |

लागू होई बाहमणी मिल जगदीस दलिद्र गवाऐ |

चलिया गिणदा गट्टीयां क्यों कर जाईये कौण मिलाऐ |

पहुता नगर दुआरका सिंघ दुआर खोलता जाए |

दूरहुं देख डंडउत कर छड सिंघासन हरि जी आऐ |

पहिले दे परदखना पैरीं पै के लै गल लाऐ |

चरणोदक लै पैर धोइ सिंघासन ऊपर बैठाऐ |

पुछे कुसल पिआर कर गुर सेवा की कथा सुनाऐ |

लै के तंदुल चबिओने विदा करै आगे पहुंचाऐ |

भाई गुरदास जी के कथन अनुसार सुदामा गोकुल नगरी का एक ब्राह्मण था| वह बड़ा निर्धन था| वह श्री कृष्ण जी के साथ एक ही पाठशाला में पढ़ा करता था| उस समय वह बच्चे थे| बचपन में कई बच्चों का आपस में बहुत प्यार हो जाता है, वे बच्चे चाहे गरीब हो या अमीर, अमीरी और गरीबी का फासला बचपन में कम होता है| सभी बच्चे या विद्यार्थी शुद्ध हृदय के साथ मित्र और भाई बने रहते हैं|

सुदामा और कृष्ण जी का आपस में अत्यन्त प्रेम था, वह सदा ही इकट्ठे रहते| जिस समय उनका गुरु उनको किसी कार्य के लिए भेजता तो वे इकट्ठे चले जाते, बेशक नगर में जाना हो या किसी जंगल में लकड़ी लेने| दोनों के प्रेम की बहुत चर्चा थी|

सुदामा जब पढ़ने के लिए जाता था तो उनकी माता उनके वस्त्र के पलड़े में थोड़े-से भुने हुए चने बांध दिया करती थी| सुदामा उनको खा लेता था, ऐसा ही होता रहा|

एक दिन गुरु जी ने श्री कृष्ण और सुदामा दोनों को जंगल की तरफ लकड़ियां लेने भेजा| जंगल में गए तो वर्ष शुरू हो गई| वे एक वृक्ष के नीचे बैठ गए| बैठे-बैठे सुदामा को याद आया कि उसके पास तो भुने हुए चने हैं, वह ही खा लिए जाए| वह श्री कृष्ण से छिपा कर चने खाने लगा| उसे इस तरह देख कर श्री कृष्ण जी ने पूछा-मित्र! क्या खा रहे हो?

सुदामा से उस समय झूठ बोला गया| उसने कहा-सर्दी के कारण दांत बज रहे हैं, खा तो कुछ नहीं रहा, मित्र!

उस समय सहज स्वभाव ही श्री कृष्ण जी के मुख से यह शब्द निकल गया -'सुदामा! तुम तो बड़े कंगाल हो, चनों के लिए अपने मित्र से झूठ बोल दिया|'

यह कहने की देर थी कि सुदामा के गले दरिद्र और कंगाली पड़ गई, कंगाल तो वह पहले ही था| मगर अब तो श्री कृष्ण ने वचन कर दिया था| यह वचन जानबूझ कर नहीं सहज स्वभाव ही श्री कृष्ण के मुख से निकल गया, पर सत्य हुआ| सुदामा और अधिक कंगाल हो गया|

पाठशाला का समय खत्म हो गया और सुदामा अपने घर चला गया| विवाह हुआ, बच्चे हुए तथा उसके पश्चात माता-पिता का देहांत हो गया| कंगाली दिन-ब-दिन बढ़ती जा रही थी, कोई फर्क न पड़ा| दिन बीतने लगे| श्री कृष्ण जी राजा बन गए, उनकी महिमा बढ़ गई| वह भगवान रूप में पूजा जाने लगे तो सुदामा बड़ा खुश हो का अपनी पत्नी को बताया करता कि हम दोनों का परस्पर अटूट प्रेम होता था|

उसकी पत्नी कहने लगी -'यदि आपके ऐसे मित्र हैं और आप में इतना प्रेम था तो आप उनके पास जाओ और अपना हाल बताओ| हो सकता है कि कृपा तथा दया करके हमारी कंगाली दूर कर दें|'

अपनी पत्नी की यह बात सुन कर सुदामा ने कहा -'जाने के लिए तो सोचता हूं, पर जाऊं कैसे, श्री कृष्ण के पास जाने के लिए भी तो कुछ न कुछ चाहिए, आखिर हम बचपन के मित्र हैं|'

आखिर उसकी पत्नी ने बहुत ज़ोर दिया तो एक दिन सुदामा अपने मित्र श्री कृष्ण कि ओर चल पड़ा| उसकी पत्नी ने कुछ चावल, तरचौली उसको एक पोटली में बांध दिए| सुदामा मन में विचार करता कि मित्र को कैसे मिलेगा? क्या कहेगा? द्वारिका नगरी में पहुंच कर वह श्री कृष्ण जी का दरबार लगता था| प्रभु वहां इंसाफ और न्याय करते थे| सुदामा ने डरते और कांपते हुए द्वारपाल को कहा - 'मैंने राजा जी को मिलना है|'

द्वारपाल-'क्या नाम बताऊं जा कर?'

सुदामा-उनको कहना सुदामा ब्राह्मण आया है, आपके बचपन का मित्र| द्वारपाल यह संदेश ले कर अंदर चला गया| जब उसने श्री कृष्ण जी को संदेश दिया तो वह उसी पल सिंघासन से उठ कर नंगे पांव बाहर को भागे तथा बाहर आ कर सुदामा को गले लगा लिया| कुशलता पूछी तथा बड़े आदर और प्रेम से उसे अपने सिंघासन पर बिठाया और उसके पैर धोए| पास बिठा कर व्यंग्य के लहजे में कहा - लाओ मेरी भाभी ने मेरे लिए क्या भेजा है?

यह कह कर श्री कृष्ण ने सुदामा के वस्त्रों से बंधी हुई पोटली खोल ली और फक्के मार कर चबाने लगे| चबाते हुए वर देते गए तथा कहते रहे, "वाह! कितनी स्वादिष्ट है तरचौली! कितनी अच्छी है भाभी!"

सुदामा प्रसन्न हो गया| श्री कृष्ण ने मित्र को अपने पास रखा तथा खूब सेवा की गई| बड़े आदर से उसको भेजा| विदा होते समय न तो सुदामा ने श्री कृष्ण से अपनी निर्धनता बताते हुए कुछ मांगा तथा न ही मुरली मनोहर ने उसे कुछ दिया| सुदामा जिस तरह खाली हाथ दरबार की तरफ गया था, वैसे ही खाली हाथ वापिस घर को चल पड़ा| मार्ग में सोचता रहा कि घर जाकर अपनी पत्नी को क्या बताऊंगा? मित्र से क्या मांग कर लाया हूं|

सुदामा गोकुल पहुंचा| जब वह अपने मुहल्ले में पहुंचा तो उसे अपना घर ही न मिला| वह बड़ा हैरान हुआ| उसका कच्चा घर जो झौंपड़ी के बराबर घास फूस से बना गाय बांधने योग्य था, कहीं दिखाई न दिया| वह वहां खड़ा हो कर पूछना ही चाहता था कि इतने में उसका लड़का आ गया| उसने नए वस्त्र पहने हुए थे| 'पिता जी! आप बहुत समय लगा कर आए हो|.....द्वारिका से आए जिन आदमियों को आप ने भेजा था, वह यह महल बना गए हैं, सामान भी छोड़ गए हैं तथा बहुत सारे रुपये दे गए हैं| माता जी आपका ही इंतजार कर रहे हैं| आप आकर देखें कितना सुंदर महल बना है|'

अपने पुत्र से यह बात सुन कर तथा कच्चे घर की जगह सुन्दर महल देख कर वह समझ गया कि यह सब भगवान श्री कृष्ण की लीला है| श्री कृष्ण ने मुझे वहां अपने पास द्वारिका में रखा और मेरे पीछे से यहां पर यह लीला रचते रहे तथा मुझे बिल्कुल भी मालूम नहीं पड़ने दिया| महल इतना सुन्दर था कि, उस जैसा किसी दूसरे का शायद ही हो| शायद महल बनाने के लिए विश्वकर्मा जी स्वयं आए थे, तभी तो इतना सुन्दर महल बना| भगवान श्री कृष्ण की लीला देख कर सुदामा बहुत ही प्रसन्न था| उसके बिना कुछ बताए ही श्री कृष्ण जी सब कुछ समझ गए थे|

उस दिन के बाद सुदामा श्री कृष्ण की भक्ति में लग गया और भक्तों में गिने जाने लगा|
